The
Oberoi Udaivilas is given the title of best hotel of 2013 in all of India and
is always considered as one of the best hotels of the world. It is a worth
seeing place and once a visit is given to the place, the reason for it being
No.1 gets clear. The city of Udaipur is actually an oasis with numerous lakes
with lush clear waters. The Udaivilas is a resort located at the bank of the
famous Pichola Lake giving the wonderful sight of the whole of the city.
The
rooms of the resort share an infinity edge pool towards the Pichola Lake giving
a perfect view of sunset. The pool covers all of the hotel and is shared among
8 premier rooms. Every rooms is elegantly designed and very spacious,
concentration has been given to handwork everywhere in the resort and the very
traditional furniture. Every room has large sitting area and besides it is a
huge king sized bed towards the window giving perfect view of the lake. All
bathrooms are made up of marble having standing bath tubs filed completely with
rose petals when guests arrives. Outside of the bathroom is the courtyard that
leads to the pool.
The
stay at Udaivilas include the breakfast which is actually full of meat, cheese,
Indian specialties and baked pastries along with freshly squeezed juices. The
presentation and the quality of the food is wonderful. All Indian food is
prepared very nicely and they taste as nothing else to be eaten. Since the
views of the hotel is so wonderful that every meals is wished to be outdoor
rather than in restaurant. Few restaurants though are there at the resort.
Among them is the Uaimahal which provides the north Indian food which is best
in taste and quality. Suryamahal restaurant offers good international food.
There is a bar off the large lobby which offers wonderful cocktails though
there is a short list of wines being offered there. The bar is a nice place to
sit and have little unwind after the busy day of enjoying the sights of the
city. The bar also offers Cuban cigars if one wants to enjoy. The hotel also
offers private dinners under the dome which offer a perfect experience of
candle light dinner under the dome with thousands of flowers laid up for the
guests. This gives one of the most romantic experiences one can ever have.
The
service of the hotel is marvelous. The employees wearing the traditional
dresses making guests feel at home. The hotel also has arrangement for
traditional music like the sitar playing arrangement and an incredible
fireworks to amuse its guests. This gives more fun under the dome to enjoy the
fireworks. The entrance to the hotel is such grand that it leaves the guests speechless.
The courtyard is large field size having a centrally large water feature in the
shape of big lotus flower made of marble and the floating petals made of
marble. This is no doubt a worth seeing place.
